Blood Cancer Types

Types Of Blood Cancer:

Leukemia, a type of blood cancer is a disease that attacks mainly children and young adults, hence this is the most commonly found blood cancer variant among children. Although children are more vulnerable to this disease, yet it can also attack young adults.

There are many different types of leukemia, but the mostly found disease is myelogenous leukemia. It is found in almost all the patients of leukemia, except for the small number of cases which are acute myeloid leukemia or acute granulocytic.

Leukemia has few prominent signs and symbols that make it easier to diagnose.
A few of these symptoms are as under :

* Fever and infections are the most common and frequent signs of leukemia .
* Anemia, shortedness of breath are some more symbols of Leukemia.
* Bleeding bruising and appearance of red spots all over the body are more prominent signs of the disease as well. Pain in bones and joints are some other symptoms of leukemia.

* General tiredness is another major symptom of leukemia.

Although all of the above symptoms are somehow linked to leukemia, yet is should be remembered that, these are common symptoms and may be present due to some minor medical problems, but as always, if these symptoms persist, it better to consult the doctor and go under the scanner to diagnose leukemia.

However, the symptoms can reveal the existance of a more serious medical condition underneath, yet it is impossible to confirm leukemia without biopsy. In biopsy, the doctor takes a tissue sample from the patient’s bone marrow. Further samples of the bone and blood help to determine whether the cancer has spread to other parts of the body.
